In Grupo EQT S.A.S. we believe in the benefits of cannabis and its integration into society, so, parallel to our projects, we work to raise awareness about the properties of the plant and make this bring certain rewards to the population.

Regarding the Colombian subsidiary, since we settled in the city of Medellin we have collaborated in numerous talks and conferences related to therapeutic cannabis organized by different groups. In this sense, the collaboration of which we feel most proud is the work with FUNDALUVA, a foundation that brings medicinal cannabis to children with disabilities to improve their quality of life, that is, it helps the most vulnerable part of society. This foundation achieves incredible results, improving the living conditions of both patients and their families or caregivers.

As the social aspect is very important for the company and one of our pillars is CSR, since late 2017 we began to establish meetings and presentations with different groups of the population where our facilities are located, making the inhabitants aware of the aims of the productions we are going to obtain. In collaboration with the Mayor’s Office we have already proposed possible works to improve the conditions of the community, deriving jobs to people with more difficulty in integrating the world of work, training qualified staff and even collaborating in the improvement of public spaces.

We are also in permanent contact with the Universities of Antioquia and the National University of Colombia. Once the project is operational, collaboration agreements will be established and we will cede part of our facilities for the main performance of cannabis research, however, we are also open to studies of ecosystem management.
